The Peace

La Paz, Bolivia (short for "Our Lady of the Peace") is a find. I have many photos from the gondola ride, a fascinating street parade, "Witches Shops", and the gorgeous cliffs surrounding the city that I will likely be sharing them for the next few weeks.

It took about 17 hours by bus to La Paz from Cusco. It's not that fun of travel but the cost of the trip is around $20 one way. That includes an involves an international border crossing.

La Paz sits at a higher elevation that Cusco at around 12,000 feet. It's eally up there, and my lugs and heart work hard to hike up and down the massive hills. It really reminded me of San Francisco.

Calle Jaen is a famous street in La Paz with several famous musuems and beautiful Spanish colonial archtiecture.

This woman is cooking "Anticuchos",  my favorite Latin American street food so far. It's in many cities. You can order carne (beef) or  "corazon" (heart). I ate the heart.

The colorful (and new-ish) Bolivian unity flag represents all the indigenous groups that live throughout the country. I love it.

The view outside my AirBnB. bedroom. This is a nice suburb outside La Paz.
