In this amazing photograph taken by my stepfather Jack Stuber, many things are illuminated. One of the most illuminated is the intention of the photographer to be present and witness. I am reminded of the work and patience this actually requires. In the process of watching and waiting, the hard-to-see beauty of a dragonfly surfaces. When else have I see one this closely and for this long? Closely tuned human attention and intention comes through as much as the dragonfly does.
