I am reminded that real peace means that I recognize a few things:
Most people don´t see the world as I do.
Most people don´t believe what I believe.
Interestingly, this is not specifically a problem. That said, keeping it in my mind is hard. I am not sure why. Perhaps in remembering these things, a person can become more effective.
People really are different than me. And my goal to make people be like me (consciousl or not) is irrevelant. The goal of getting everyone else to see things the way I do isn´t the point.
As Seth says, “Most of the time, people want to be seen, understood and appreciated. And if we can offer someone dignity, we give them a gift that’s difficult to find.”
