While I have not done qualitative research on the subject, I am pretty sure that resilience is one of the most important parts of human life I have observed. In my study of one. Falling and struggling are not optional. Painful periods of time are normal. Feeling frustrated, anxious, angry and agitated are parts of being a person.
Empathy is less common. Resilience is absolutely necessary, I think. If you can extend your empathy to your own self and work to direct your own kindness inward, that is it´s best application. I say this because this is what I am learning to do.
