So, an earthquake woke me up last night. This is not the first time.
They are common here in Perú. It was deep and intense, scary, and not a big suprise. Thankfully, it did not cause much destruction. I was thinking of the tetonic plates the world we live in sit on. The movement of the earth, reminding us of their presence. It was majestic and frightening. I kind of loved it and it scared me a bit too.
I am reminded of the Neko Case song “This Tornado Loves You”. Talking about how intense it would be for a tornado to actually be in love with you. I got a sense of that last night as I felt the earth move beneath me. The earthquake and me.
