Show Me Who You Are

So, I am dating. It has been wonderful. It is interesting as dating is a great metaphor (or perhaps a genuine real life example) of what we say versus how we live. People say so much about themselves. People talk about what they like, where they like to go, and what is important to them. Yes, conversation is really important.

But this is not the point.

What is more important is to do.

It is likely more important in dating as in life, to do. To observe, to listen, to say nothing, to hang out, to rest on the sidelines, to be. Watching how someone is, matters. This is different than simply listening to what they say. This is how we really observe who we are, who others are, and what things are true. It is in both having normal life and in doing that we show what and who we are.
