¡Sorpresa! Internet puede ser el antagonista. Conduciendo a algunos a ataques de pánico buscando un pensamiento del Día del Juicio Final tras otro. Haciendo que la gente se cuestione cada parte de nuestras vidas, haciendo que los demás estén aislados y solos. No participo en la mayoría de los medios de comunicación social por esta razón, ya que a menudo encuentro que hace más daño que bien. Hay importantes y hermosas excepciones a esto, y las aplaudo.

Aquí está la otra parte de la historia. Internet también puede ser el gran conector. Puede unirnos de maneras que nunca antes habían sucedido. Si el pánico puede multiplicarse, también pueden hacerlo las voces que ofrecen calma. Si antes el acceso a la poesía era un problema, ahora no lo es. Estoy aquí, levantando la mano, mencionando que como cualquier herramienta, nuestra capacidad de encontrar a los demás que se preocupan es uno de los mayores regalos que tenemos. Suprise! The internet can be the antagonist. Driving some to panic attacks looking up one Doomsday thought after another. Making people question every part of our lives, making others isolated and alone. I don´t participate in most social media for this reason as I often find it does more harm than good. There are important and beautiful exceptions to this, and I applaud those.

Here´s the other part of the story. The internet can also be the great connector. It can bring us together in ways that have never happened before. If panic can multiply, so can the voices offering calm. If accessing poetry was a problem before, it´s not now. I am here, raising my hand, mentioning that like any tool, our ability to find the others who care is one of the greatest gifts we have. So, here´s to that effort. I am doing my part as well.
