The same perfectionism that makes lanuage learning difficult makes creative generation difficult. If you spend your time out on the edge, outside a comfort zone, and regularly share your ideas in public, you understand this concept well. It´s easy to dismiss the ideas or work of others when our own work is not at risk.

If you allow yourself to live with the vulnerablity from engaging in the incompetence of real learning, you´re clear whatever you produce isn´t necessarily your best work. In fact, it´s often far from it. The Spanish I speak comes out of my mouth in an imperfect form, and it comes out nonetheless. It needs to, and it´s improved over time while remaining imperfect.

Creative people regularly engage as they understand it´s the regular engagement that matters. One specific item isn´t the end of the line. A series of works over a period of time also isn´t the end of the line. The showing up as yourself and regularly shipping is.

I would rather live in a world of creators than a world of critics.

El mismo perfeccionismo que dificulta el aprendizaje del lenguaje dificulta la generación creativa. Si pasas tu tiempo en el borde, fuera de una zona de confort, y regularmente compartes tus ideas en público, entiendes bien este concepto. Es fácil descartar las ideas o el trabajo de otros cuando nuestro propio trabajo no está en riesgo.

Si te permites vivir con la vulnerabilidad de comprometerte con la incompetencia del aprendizaje real, tienes claro que cualquier cosa que produzcas no es necesariamente tu mejor trabajo. De hecho, a menudo está lejos de serlo.

El español que hablo sale de mi boca de forma imperfecta, y sale sin embargo. Necesita hacerlo, y ha mejorado con el tiempo mientras sigue siendo imperfecto.

Las personas creativas se comprometen regularmente ya que entienden que es el compromiso regular lo que importa. Un punto específico no es el final de la línea. Una serie de trabajos durante un período de tiempo tampoco es el final de la línea. El aparecer como tú misma y el envío regular lo es.

Prefiero vivir en un mundo de creadores que en un mundo de críticos.
