Octopus

If we worship at different alters, what could those alters include?

In the book I’ve been reading called “The Soul of an Octopus” I was struck by the fact that the narrator opens the tank of the octopus’ tank and describes it as worshipping at an alter.

I wonder if I worship at the alter of my family’s treehouse or if I worship over a cup of coffee. Or if I worship in the “tiny hidden transgressions” as David Whyte writes that compose this life.

I worship at the art museum too.

Si rendimos culto a diferentes altares, ¿qué podrían incluir esos altares?

En el libro que he estado leyendo, titulado "El alma de un pulpo", me llamó la atención que el narrador abriera la pecera del pulpo y lo describiera como si rindiera culto en un altar.

Me pregunto si yo rindo culto en el altar de la casa del árbol de mi familia o si lo hago ante una taza de café. O si rindo culto en las "pequeñas transgresiones ocultas", como escribe David Whyte, que componen esta vida.

También rindo culto en el museo de arte.
