…is myself rising to the circumstances.

and keeping a candle lit for all the grief that I can’t possibly manage to take on. For all the uncertainty and loss. For people who are dying or have died. For people who were just born and will be soon. For a culture being shaped by artificial intelligence.

What I want to see is myself standing taller instead of slouching into the ground.

The circumstances rise and so do we.

That’s what I want to see. And if you look back on this moment, casting all of human behavior in one specific light wouldn’t be fair. There were people who rose to the circumstances all throughout history. And there are no shortage of those people now.

That’s us now, too.

Lo que quiero ver es a mí misma a la altura de las circunstancias.

Y mantener una vela encendida por toda la pena que no consigo asumir. Por toda la incertidumbre y la pérdida. Por las personas que están muriendo o han muerto. Por las personas que acaban de nacer y pronto lo harán. Por una cultura moldeada por la inteligencia artificial.

Lo que quiero es verme a mí misma más erguida en lugar de encorvarme hacia el suelo.

Las circunstancias se elevan y nosotros también.

Eso es lo que quiero ver. Y si echamos la vista atrás a este momento, arrojar toda la conducta humana bajo una luz específica no sería justo. Hubo gente que estuvo a la altura de las circunstancias a lo largo de toda la historia. Y no faltan esas personas ahora.

Ahora también somos así.
