As I reflect on my adolescence, I still love the WWJD bracelets of my mystical Christian youth.

What would Jesus do?

It remains one of my favorite questions.

Wearing it as a bracelet makes a lot of sense in the same way I tattooed “the designation of space” on my body.

But not Jesus, instead Anna of the future?

What would the wiser Anna of the future do in this wicked problem?

Would she be glad that she stopped kneading said topic over and over again in her mind?

Framing it not as an ancient man, but as someone now, the one who stayed with it instead of getting bored or distracted?

The one who thought carefully and kindly not just to others, but perhaps more courageously with herself?

The one that kept this blog going over all these years?

Also, who is it, exactly, we are becoming? And how much have we angled our viewfinder on that person?

Cuando reflexiono sobre mi adolescencia, todavía me encantan las pulseras WWJD de mi mística juventud cristiana.

¿Qué haría Jesús?

Sigue siendo una de mis preguntas favoritas.

Llevarla como pulsera tiene mucho sentido, del mismo modo que tatuarme "la designación del espacio" en el cuerpo.

¿Pero no Jesús, sino la Ana del futuro?

¿Qué haría la Ana del futuro, más sabia, en este malvado problema?

¿Se alegraría de haber dejado de amasar dicho tema una y otra vez en su mente?

¿Enmarcándolo no como un hombre antiguo, sino como alguien de ahora, el que se quedó con él en lugar de aburrirse o distraerse?

¿La que pensaba con cuidado y amabilidad no sólo con los demás, sino quizá con más valentía consigo misma?

¿La que mantuvo este blog durante todos estos años?

Además, ¿en quién nos estamos convirtiendo exactamente? ¿Y hasta qué punto hemos orientado nuestro visor hacia esa persona?
