Most of life is outside our control, as though it was a small animal that can manage itself in the rain and wet sidewalks.
I didn’t need to micromanage any of it.
It’s one thing to care, and that’s hugely important.
It’s another to keep picking up the tiny animal that needs to wander, grow, and do its own activities in the world.
Leave the small creatures to explore on their own. I usually won’t leave them alone.
Leave the world that you don’t understand outside your effort to reach and grasp it. Or try to understand it while letting it explore on its own. It was never all yours to do anyway. You can leave the whole world outside your control because it will be doing its own things. Your job isn’t even to understand all of it. What you know is your love affair with the universe and the mutually signed contract that says you will trust it.
Trust often defies understanding. We don’t need to get it for it to make sense to us. We can leave the tiny animals outside, seeking to learn from them but their habits might not be so welcome in our homes. That’s only a problem if we let it be.
Don’t leave the cats outside though.

No necesitaba microgestionar nada de eso.
Una cosa es preocuparse, y eso es enormemente importante.
Otra cosa es seguir recogiendo al animalito que necesita deambular, crecer y hacer sus propias actividades en el mundo. Hay que dejar que las criaturas exploren solas. Yo no suelo dejarlos solos.
Deja el mundo que no entiendes al margen de tu esfuerzo por alcanzarlo y comprenderlo. O intenta comprenderlo mientras dejas que explore por sí mismo. De todos modos, nunca fue todo tuyo. Puedes dejar el mundo entero fuera de tu control porque hará sus propias cosas. Tu trabajo ni siquiera consiste en entenderlo todo. Lo que conoces es tu historia de amor con el universo y el contrato mutuamente firmado que dice que confiarás en él.
La confianza a menudo desafía la comprensión. No necesitamos entenderla para que tenga sentido para nosotros. Podemos dejar a los animales diminutos fuera, buscando aprender de ellos, pero sus hábitos podrían no ser tan bienvenidos en nuestros hogares. Eso sólo es un problema si dejamos que lo sea.
