Doing what you are doing

Two Sundays ago, I had an art evening with friends. We watercolored next to the pool. That scene wasn’t depicted in what I thought full-stage, fourth-floor adulthood was supposed to be. It’s so much better. We aren’t trying to live as people we don’t know.

I painted my usual abstract color blends and layer and layer of texture and line.

Why?

Once my fingers had processed whatever dough was to be kneaded, I added a few words. That’s the right order to go in.

If you keep doing what you are doing, you will keep getting what you are getting.

Hace dos domingos, tuve una tarde de arte con amigos. Acuarelamos junto a la piscina. Esa escena no representaba lo que yo creía que debía ser la edad adulta del cuarto piso. Es mucho mejor. No intentamos vivir como personas que no conocemos.

Pinté mis habituales mezclas abstractas de colores y capa y capa de textura y línea.

¿Por qué?

Una vez que mis dedos habían procesado la masa que había que amasar, añadí algunas palabras. Ese es el orden correcto.

Si sigues haciendo lo que estás haciendo, seguirás obteniendo lo que estás obteniendo.
