Last Sunday, I visited the San Pedro Market. It´s famous in Cusco as a place to buy frogs, pigs heads, and other unusual items. I was looking to cook dinner so I sought out cheese, bread, potatoes, quinoa, and vegetables. These are the ladies I met while there.
Semana Santa or ¨Holy Week¨is a major week-long celebration in Peru leading up to Easter. These breads were lined up all throughout the market.
There are many options of quinoa.
It´s possible to buy non-Inka popcorn.
While there appear to be many options here, there are generally only 2 types of cheese available in Cusco--- salted and unsalted. I bought salted and made a delicious vegetable, potato and quinoa soup. Nice to be cooking once again.
The smoothie ladies. I got papaya, pineapple, apple, carrot, and mango juice.
