Chile.

Hello from Arica, Chile. At the time of this posting, I am just getting off the 16 hour bus ride from Northern Chile.  It is a long trek to a beachy city surrounded by desert. I generally feel this in-the-mud travel is worth the trouble.

This is the ocean walk along the edge of the city. It's rocky, filled with a zillion shades of blue, and certain areas are loved for surfing.

This semi-abandoned disco is still an option for lunch on the beach. It was fine for Pisco Sours and lots of murder mystery lexicon.

This is St. Mark's Cathedral. It's a gathering point in the city and was rebuilt in 1868 after an earthquake destroyed the original building.

Very simple diner breakfast---bread, eggs, and pineapple juice.
