A Contemplative Day

I am reminded right now, like a lightening rod, of what is broken and what is being healed. Within us as humans. All the time. How much it means to risk, be real, and share from a place of integrity and honesty? I feel like so much of my orientation of the world right now comes from a place of vulnerability, of focused genuine effort, of reaching out in a struggle. What else can we really offer each other?

Several people in my life have experience a painful loss this year. In the same breath many have welcomed the beautiful face of new life. The women in our program are having babies, healthy babies when it was very possible for them not to. This kind of awareness reminds of what it means to be a human and what it means to value human lives in the angle that public health offers.
