La Inmersión

March 11, 2018

Hello from Lima! I just arrived earlier this week to start working with an amazing maternal health project at Partners in Health (a fabulous public health organization) here. I will share much more on Lima soon and the work I'm doing.

In the transition, I have so many more photos from Colombia to share. In particular I visited Medellín, the the second largest city and a cultural capital. I was more interested in going to the Planetarium, Aquarium, and zoo than nearly anywhere in the city.

I can't look at this picture without getting a little lost inside the color. These photos were taken by one of my new favorite people, Andres Emilio.

There are many differences between going to an aquarium and scuba diving. One of them is the exceptional clarify of an aquarium. Visibility while scuba diving is often a wild card.

The Clown Fish is inside and outside. This is how I feel in Lima at the moment. Getting acclimated.

This Electric Eel was my favorite part of the aquarium. A sign explained that a thick layer of skin-like material protects it from its own electricity. I can relate to this.
