As someone from the US, we have a culture of needing to be “busy”. Or whatever. I have not lived in the yes for nearly three years, I´d like to think that busyness means the same as being productive, but I think we are actually talking about two different things.
I am more productive when I sleep more and am rested.
I am more productive when I have the courage to have difficult coversations instead of avoiding them.
I am more productive when I ask people to explain things to me again, carefully, because I just did not understand them the first time.
I am more productive (and also just less frustrated) when I let the words take their time leaving my mouth instead of rushing through and not being understood.
I also find that dealing with my resistance, is actually a topic of productivity. If I don´t avoid the phone call, and just pick up the phone, things move along better. Is productivity also about a willingness to share? If I share, are more good ideas placed into the world? Is that a better sense of moving things along?
