Residency

Yesterday, I received my Peruvian residency. It was and is such a milestone in my life.

I got a work Visa through a lot of hectic running around. I went to Chile and back. I have paid the dues. And now, there is a certain symbolic officialness to the whole thing. The immigration official stamped my passport “Residente”.

To me, there often a grander message. I suppose this is particularly true when you have taken a whole bunch of annoying steps in a row to get something. I forget about those steps sometimes, and I even sent myself an email about it, “Anna, just stay with the process”. Here we are!
