I think creators work to elicit things from themselves. They push themselves. I hung out with a friend this weekend who hand built his own home according to every one of his own preferences. It took him a little over 1 year, and he learned as he went along. His learning is in the walls, and you can see it.

I suppose daily writing is one form of eliciting. Or starting to build a house with your own hands means you elicit the job until it is done?
