I have spent huge amounts of time and energy this year working to get out of my own way and do harder work that matters. (Pause) It has been raw and important. It seems to be a version of self reliance. Getting to something because you give a damn enough about it to make sure it happens.

I love both this line and the overall philopophy of Charlie Gilkey about productivity. He says:

“Productivity is about more than getting stuff done — it’s about using your resources in ways that bring about the most value in your life.”

He also mentions:

“No matter what you do, your reach will always exceed your grasp. Make sure the things that don’t get done matter less.”
