I am reminded, from Seth Godin, that there are 2 ways think about work. One is to think about deadlines of when things need to be completed. The other is to think about dessert. It is something I truly enjoy and savor.
I am motivated by both, truly. It is true that the dailyness of work means that you have to find ways to be nice to yourself. It is a lot of work, work you are so incredibly proud of. So, I have chosen, how I am going to think about all of this.
This is the work I get to do.
I have the privilege and opportunity of doing work that I find resonant, meaningful, critical, and urgent.
