Considering the fact that so most of the health care systems throughout the world are not where they ought to be, there is a lot of work to be done. Many people are attached to mental public health models. Models that people have created, models people like to use to design programs, then people critique them and rewrite them. I find there is an underwhelming amount of real sustainability focused implementation projects that impress me in which communities are supported towards improved health from a bottom up approach.
Here is a model I like:
What exists
What ought to exist
The work:
Working with communities (rather than simply telling them what to do) to raise up to level of normal, functional healthcare system to where it ought to be.
