Relative Problems

I am currently sitting on a plane flying from Kansas City to Newark to Lima. We work up so painfully early this morning. I was really tired and have a hard time talking. I am reminded that (my) human perception of problems is relative. By relative, I am not saying my perception is wrong. It is simply based on my own specific frame of reference.

What qualifies as a problem for some people would not quality as a problem for others or would appear on a completely different scale. If someone feels like voting in the next presential election will not make any changes, am grateful to live in a civic society where we get to vote at all. A right to vote that took a really long time for all people to get and many people are still restricted with. People other parts of the world are struggling to be able to decide their leaders. to have the right to vote to begin with.

If I am annoyed with changes in my flight or long hold time on the phone, I can also remember that I know people who would love to fly but never once have. This is my sixth flight on my extended North American tour. So, I would definitely call that a realive (and also just small) problem.
