Why fun?

What is it about human interaction, away from my online classes, notebooks, books, and computer that resets me? What is it?

I find that there is a reset that happens when act outside a space of intentional productivity. When I act not with a sense of borrowed time but of generous time. When what happens between people, with the multivariety of human connection, that is what I actually need?

I think of it responding to the line by Andrew Bird in his song Effigy,

“Like the words of a man who has spent a little bit too much time alone.”
