My friend and photographer César Mosquera has captured Iquitos.

He does it through the play of the horizon and the River Itaya, a tributary of the Amazon that runs right alongside Iquitos. He shows it shimmering at night and with rainbows. He has offers a sense of place via the rivers and how they meet the eyes of someone in the city. Well done.

I am grateful to have this place so beautifully documented. I will feature more of his work next week.

Lo hace a través del juego del horizonte y el río Itaya, un afluente del Amazonas que corre justo al lado de Iquitos. Lo muestra brillando en la noche y con arco iris. Ofrece una sensación de lugar a través de los ríos y cómo se encuentran con los ojos de alguien en la ciudad.
