For a long time I thought it was better to be “realistic” instead of “optimistic”. Somehow, more cynical meant more valid.

I have learned when people say “realistic” they often mean “understand real systems of power” and how they affect the work one does. That´s unrelated to optimism, pessimism, cynicism or (far more important to me) possibility.

It´s just about doing the homework and being clear about context in which one works. That´s all.

Eso no está relacionado con el optimismo, el pesimismo, el cinismo o (mucho más importante para mí) la posibilidad.

Se trata de hacer los deberes y tener claro el contexto en el que se trabaja. Eso es todo.
