I washed my clothes by hand today. It happened once during the quarantine. The previous time was during my semester in Senegal at age 21. I remember marveling at how well the soap disolved the dirt. How well it worked.

It also worked well again today, 16 years later.

It appears that our lives are long chains of lighted events, connecting moments throughout our histories. Hopefully we see beyond the light towards the tiny chain that pulls them together.

Hoy he lavado mi ropa a mano. Me ocurrió una vez durante la cuarentena. La vez anterior fue durante mi semestre en Senegal a los 21 años. Recuerdo que me maravillaba lo bien que el jabón disolvía la suciedad. Lo bien que funcionaba.

También ha vuelto a funcionar bien hoy, 16 años después.

Parece que nuestras vidas son largas cadenas de acontecimientos iluminados, que conectan momentos a lo largo de nuestras historias. Ojalá veamos más allá de la luz hacia la pequeña cadena que los une.
