Humans tend to act in our own self-interest. I don’t think that’s a problem.

It´s a more useful strategy than trying to appeal to our empathy or generosity.

I’m trying this strategy on myself.

Instead of hating getting up and slaying the dragon of whatever I don’t want to do first thing, I can think of it instead as something that will make me more courageous, earlier, and free up my day from the tension or anxiety of not having done it. That’s the game I’m in. An easier day.

It’s working.

Slay the dragon first so you can configure your day oriented towards the easier.

En lugar de odiar levantarme y matar al dragón de lo que no quiero hacer a primera hora, puedo pensar que, en cambio, es algo que me hará más valiente, antes, y que liberará mi día de la tensión o la ansiedad de no haberlo hecho. Ese es el juego en el que estoy. Un día más fácil.

Está funcionando.
