It's a moment in my life. Sitting at the kitchen table eating rice and lentils with Julissa, the young Quecha woman who lives and works with my host family. I'm very late to dinner, and she has just gotten home studying tourism. Everyone else is asleep, and she wishes me happy international women's day (!) in spanish. I stumble through our dialogue feeling gratified to be sitting at this table, in this house, with this food, with this interesting person. What a life.
Ladies greeting us on the Floating Island of Uros in Lake Titicaca.
In other news, I've just signed a 6-month English teaching contract at Maximo Nivel in Cusco!
