So, I have recently discovered something. People are often obsessed with effort and persistence. For good reason, I believe as it seems to serve as the backbone of many important processes. A to B. Less acknowledged and understood are critical topic of falling. To me, falling is when you do not feel the ground under you and you do not have the comfort of feeling sure, of knowing something, or having done it before. You haven´t. You don´t know. You must ask for clarification. You must repeat the question. You might not understand it after it is repeated to you. You are trusting the patience of the person you are talking to.
While not a fan favorite, I think as a human more meaningful learning happens when you are “falling” than probably any other life context. Richard Rohr talks about falling and I am using the word which I learned in the context of his writing. It is so relevant, I should probably write about forever. The good news is that if you are willing (and don´t fight) the sensation of "falling”, I think a human life really improves. I think we become more honest expressions of who we are and who we want to be.
