So, in the middle of this super busy project I am working on full time in Iquitos, I decided to head back to Lima for a weekend. I arrived at the Iquitos airport on Friday night (two nights ago) to find the airline I had booked on was being liquidated, and my flight no longer existed.
I am looking with great focus, to savor my life. To reach into the parts of myself that have wanted to be realized, simply hold them to the light, and savor them.
So I decided to stay one night at a fascinating and odd local hotel. I sat, this morning, by the pool and had breakfast. During the course of the breakfast, I used my fork to cut open a fried egg split into three parts, my fork cutting a triange into it. The color of the yolk moved around my plate, and I sat in appreciation.
I find that to really savor a moment like this, one must “breathe into the moment” as though you were sucking the air from the experience into your soul and memory. This is now. This is what is happening now. This rustling of green leaves around me created a light display on the table mixed with the opera music playing in the background which will be linked into my brain for the rest of my life.
