Layering

So, one thing about experience is… it layers. Experiences as desirable as the layers of a croissant, tedious to create yet eventually very worth it.

I am not sure I understood this before.

We do things and in general we get more experience in doing them. At some point, people call us “experienced”. It was the result of many, tiny, painful slow layers created over time. They were younger versions of me that struggled deeply with this. I feel that history coming through my fingers as I write this.

Now, I am called experienced.

What happened is… I struggled hard. I went through. This is an acknowledgement to a younger from a more experienced me, grateful that I persisted.
