I have been reading “Thinking in Systems'“ by Donella Meadows. It is clarifying, helping me understand the clogs of our human systemic functioning. Economic systems and the ideas of Karl Marx, the functioning of my kidneys, ecological systems, the way water flows in and out of a bathtub.

She writes the following:

“Everything, as they say, is connected to everything else, and not neatly.”

I find, that in starting with this, my thinking becomes more careful. Especially when in an early stage of learning something and my black and white thinking kicks in. If everything is connected to everything else, and not neatly, the bigger question is about me the thinker.

What haven’t I accounted for?
