I was on a boat ride last night. When we were finishing, the older man driving the boat got into the water with his jean shorts on. I was envious. I wanted to get into the water with my shorts on too. To get wet without thinking twice. This is the draw of direct experience. It’s more satisfying to actually get wet than wish we were getting wet.

Anoche estuve en un paseo en barco. Y el hombre mayor que conducía el barco salió de la embarcación y se metió en el agua con los pantalones cortos de jean puestos. Me dio envidia. Yo también quería meterme en el agua con los pantalones cortos puestos. Mojarme parcialmente sin pensarlo. Este es el atractivo de la experiencia directa. Es más satisfactorio mojarse de verdad que desear mojarse.
